Percale Weave and Design Make the Difference
There are many bedding companies who offer sheets in big, colorful batches and deceptively high thread counts to draw the eye of the consumer. While these sheets may feel luxurious the first sleep or two, they begin to lose their appeal after a couple of months. These are also often full of dyes and harsh chemicals that can be sensitizing over time.

When it comes to durability and comfort, percale sheets are the way to go. Percale refers to the weave of the fibers, which are arranged one over the other like the lattice of a fence or an apple pie. Thomas Lee takes this a step further and arranges their percale with a 2-over-1 weave, adding extra durability while losing none of the softness.
The Thomas Lee Sheets Difference
Not all quality sheets are cut from the same cloth. The materials used to make sheets are as important as the weave. Not all these materials are created equally.
To add to the softness and comfort, Thomas Lee only uses long-staple Supima cotton. This rare cotton is the brand name of a type of pima cotton, sourced from the western United States. We also only use long-staple cotton, which refers to the density of cotton in the fabric. Long-staple cotton is more dense than short-staple cotton, and the denser the cotton, the more durable it is. Short-staple cotton is preferred for clothing and personal care supplies, while long-staple is preferred for bedding as it provides softness and strength. Some companies will mix their staple-length cotton in their sheets and label it as 100% cotton, but not Thomas Lee. On top of only using long-staple cottons, all of our products are Oeko-Tex certified.
Oeko-Tex is a voluntary certification that is more stringent than government ones. It manages the handling of a product from start to finish: including water usage, emissions, waste management, and working conditions of factories. Thomas Lee Sheets has maintained Oeko-Tex certification since 1992!
